This day. The annual examination of pupil teachers is now being held at Dunedin, O", .aru, and Lawrence. There are one an Ired and seventy teachers and other r . ridates. .
y^. the E.M. Court yesterday a brewii S firm sued for beer supplied to a storekeeper, who stated in Court that he had purchased the beer for sly grog selling purposes, and that plaintiffs were cognisant of the fact. Mr W. W. Stewart, counsel for defendant, contended that plaintiffs were parties to iji contract for defrauciiug the revenue, and. as a matter of law could not recover. Mr Bathgate, 8.M., said, the point raised he would like to hear argued, and adjourned the case for that purpose.
