■■;■■■ This day. The entertainment for the shipwrecked sailors last night realised £36 13s. Subscription lists have been opened to further assist them.
The following are the insurances on the vessels wrecked •—Barque Melrose, . £350, South British; Brigantine Lapwing, worth about £3509, fully insured in the New Zealand.lnsurance ; ketch Fanny, in -ditto, £500. It is not known in which office the ketch Glimpse is insured. Capt. Evans, ketch Palmerslon, was drowned on Sunday, night. Two of the Palmersldn's , crew were saved, being picked up by the crew of the Melrose. The ketch Fanny broke up, scarcely a vestige seen. The lessees; of the; Government landing service have taken possession of the Palmerston, and a salvage claim will be the result. The Lapwing is, found to be uninjured, except her false keel being knocked away, and part of her coppers stripped. The outward cargo of wheat and flour is saved, and,will be sold today. The Glimpse is high and dry. The hull is sound, her cargo of preserved meat will also be sold to-day. ;
