GOLDSMITH V. LOGAW. This was as'plaint.--brought by the Mining Inspector for' non-payment of rent on residence site—£3 being due. Defendant denied the debt. .
} J.iMi!McLaren} Goldfields proved the position of the site to be within theGoldfield. --I 1 • '
Henry Goldsmith, Mining Inspector, sworn, deposed—The site was firßt taken by a man named- Martin in 72, and had been twice;transferred. It was now in defendant's.name, though it was occupied by a man named,Abbott. ■ Albert J. Allom, Receiver of Goldfields Bevenue, sworn, deposed—There is three years' rent due on the site in question; and it has been in defendant's name since the rent has been.accruing. : ? , - Tbej defendant said that he had not had possession' ■■ 'of',, the property; -. for years; thßu'ghv^e/ had ndt surrendered it. * Ano* ther person, was now living in it. Judgment for plaintiff £3, and costs,
