: NO. 1 THAMES SCOTTISH. _ Major Withers held'his' first Woritbipi inspection ,of the .'No. 1 Company of Thames Scottish Volunteers at the drill shed last evening... There were about 90 of all ranks' present, arid they went through the manual and other exercises with the precision and' steadiness of old soldiers., The Major complimented the company on the; high state of efficiency of the company, which excelled anything' tbat.he had ever seen in the; Colony.*! He was not surprised, as he had, already heard a great deal of the efficiency of ..the Thames volunteers. ' "He'-'also' cbmplU mented the band, who performed several selections in splendid, style*.- After the inspection Volunteer'G, Price was called to the front and presented by Mrr <T:~E.
