ELECTORAL REFORM BILL.
ELECTORAL (To the Editor of the Evßftiife Stab.) Sib,—-After reading the speeches' oh the . above Bill, it has struck me the reform is intended to apply only' toLEiiropeani; the abuses {if any), existing in tip* Maori elections are still to continue, seems unfair tpaUow a Maori two ; Tot*ir while a European can.only vote for Europeans. If an uneducated or educated Maori is allowed two votes, surely' a" European should be placed on an equal fooling, by being allowed, to Tote for-* Msjoti member. As to the female franchise. How - delightful it will be to hare our representatives elected by Maori females. I wonder the questW flif fekale suffrage has not been tried by "public meetings held all over the colony before being forced on them by legislative enactment, as it is easier to make bad laws .than ta reform when once made.W-I wm\ fuj,,f / j < 'j .
