MINING COMPANY MEETING.

The annual meeting of shareholders of this company was held at the Mechanics' Institute last evening. There was a fair attendance of shareholders, and Mr J. B. Wick ham was voted to the chair. The legal manager (Mr White) read the directors' annual report and balance-sheet and the managerVreport. The directors' report was as follows ■—" In accordance with the company's rules, the directors present to the shareholders the balancesheet and profit and loss account for the 'yea*!: ending 31st July last. The directors regret that the results have not proved equal to the expectations held out soon after the reef «ras driven on some forty feet in our bonndary from the Whau level in the Alburnia mine, when good gold wns -obtained,- aiid the first crushing showed it was payable. The mine manager's report will be read to this meeting, which details the work done in the mine, . and the (directors hope that the present year will .prove, that the mine is not only : payable, but remunerative to the shareholders. At this meeting the whole of ■"■"'the directors retire, and, being eligible, offer themselves for re-election. You will also require to appoint'an auditor for the ensuing year.—For the directors, John GrOiiDswoßTHYi" The • balance • sheet . showed the expenditure to have been £678 -2s 2d; and the receipts (by gold) £341 12s lOd. The mine manager's re•port gave an account of the year's operations, prospects, etc. The Chairman proposed that the two Auckland directors, Messrs^C. B. Stone and Alexander, be reelected. Mr Mahoney proposed tliat the three Thames directors be Messrs Goldsworthy, Gavin, and Barclay. Both reso- ■ lutions were carried. The Chairman proposed that'Mr T. L. White, of Auckland, be reflected auditor. Carried. The meeting then adjourned,' with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
