RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAY.
(Before W. Fraser, Esq., K.M.) DEUNKENNESS AND VAGRANCY.
Annie Banmrth, an old offender, was charged with having been drunk and incapable yesterday, and also with having been three times convicted of drunkenness within the last twelve months.
She pleaded not guilty to both offences. J
Constables Hogan and Kennedy proved .the first offence, and Mr Stoney produced the records of the Court as proof of the second offence.
Sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment with hard labor.
V Aunie," as she was leaving the Court, said, " Captain Fraser, you might be dead before then.". r

Paria, a Native, was charged with behaving in such a manner in a public place whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned. Defendant pleaded guilty,, and was fined 20s and costs, or 4S hours' imprisonment. .
Court. adjourned.
