Melbouene, August 16.,
The Treasurer's Financial Statement last night gives the revenue for the year aa four million six hundred and seventytwo thousand ; the expenditure four million eight hundred and sixty thousand. There will bo a probable deduction of the deficiency of twenty-eight thousand by the payment of arrears of land tax on unsold land. A new loan of nine (9) millions is required for railways and other public
works. Four miilioas are asked this year.
Sydney, Thursday. The R.M.S. Australia, with the San Francisco mails, sailed to-day. She took a large complement of passengers, including Dr Somerville.
