CURE.

Retorting for this company took place at the Prince Alfred mill .yesterday for the, good return of 115 ounces- of gold. For' this 39 loads of stuff were-crushed, 34 loads of it being from the workings on 1 ■ilmour's and Morrison's leaders. Two trial parcels—one of three loads from the No. 6 reef, and another of iwo loads from the cross lode at' No. 2"level were also ' Ciushed, and resulted iv an average of about an ounce per Joad., At the mine things are' looking 'well. ? Gilmour's leader, has been driven on to boundary with' little change in its size or ralue. Stoping is in progress, and there is a large .payable block opened out. Morrison's leader which jurictioned with Gilmonr'i almost at rjght angles, is now being followed, ancrthere is a considerable stretch -* to drive ere the boundary is reached. This lode closely resembles Gilmour's, .; and is of about t'ne Tsarae value. The cutting through of the No. 2 reef is still in progress. Some time ago* a tise was put up on the lode, and the drive^u. being put through the reef to connect with the rue. Ihe lode has been cut into 20 feet, and when connection is made the manager will put men to drive on the hanging.wall of the. lode where the most likely looking ° stone exists. The No. 1 lode is running quite close and almost, parallel with the No. 2. so that the 'same'drive will pros« pect both bodiesi .of stone. The quartz in the No. 2" reef is very hard and no gold has yet been seen. Gilmour and party, tributers, will start crushing payable dirt in a few days, and Hunter and party are now engaged beating outa'crushing.
