Lime Light Entertainment.
At the Academy of Music last evening, Mr W. 0. Dennes of Auckland gave a highly" eatertaining lime light performance, comprising the exhibition of views of many places of note in Ireland and America, comical sketches, etc. Of the American views those of the Niagara Falls were especially good, the effect being very natural. The Irish views amongst which were several of beautiful lakes of Killarney appeared to please the audience very much—that is the elder portion—and juveniles fairly screamed with delight while the comic sketches were on the screen. During an interval of the performance, the prizes, consisting of five valuable sewing machines, were drawn for with the following result:— Ist prize (No. 235), not claimed, 2nd J.
G. Mackie, 3rd W. H. Reardon, 4th L. 'vfelhose, sth Paul. Mr Dennes acted as lecturer, and the whole affair was a great success; everyone, and especially the prize takers, seeming to go home perfectly satisfied. The entertainment will be repeated this evening, when more prizes will be given away.
