CONDUCT OF HOSPITAL FUNERALS.
(To the Editor of-the Brening'Star.) Sib,—As several persons seem to think my remarks on hospital funerals were pointed to the contractor, I' wish to disclaim any such intention, as I merely wished to draw the attention of the Committee to the fact that when a man has money he has friends, and when a poor sinner died in hospital without either, the attendance was not such as would support our reputation for charity and good feeling. A discretionary power might be left with the dispenser on such occasions, or lie might utilize some of the permanent inmates who are well able to fly around town, the difference of a walk to the cemetery and perambulating the streets not being such as to present any great physical obstacle.—Yours, &c, James McGowan.
