This clay. County Conference. At the County Conference to-day the following resolutions were carried : — That the Counties valuation shall be triennial, subject to correction for adding crown lauds transferred or omitted from the valuation list. That the Government be requested to provide a by-law for taking lands for road purposes, both through granted lands and native.
That all Chinese on goldfields actually employed in mining shall pay two pounds for miners' rights—a collector to be ap-* pointed.
That the method of auditing County accounts should be by two auditors appointed by the ratepayers.
The Hinemoa leaves for Katikati tliis evening to see if !... is practicable for her to enter, after which she goes to Auckland to await the arrival of the Lady Jocelyn, when she will take the Vesey Stewart immigrants by that vessel to their desti nation.
