Compilmentary Telegram to Earl Beaconsfield.
At a meeting of miners and business people last night it was determined that a complimentary telegraphic message should bo sent to Earl Beaconsfield upon the successful result of the European Concress, in a great measure owing to the firm, decided stand ta.ken by him and Lord Salisbury.. Mr Wm. McUullough was requested to act as chairman, Mr D. R.. Gellon hon. treasurer, and the following gentlemen were appointed a sub-commit-tee to carry out the resolution :-—Captain Fraser, E.M., with Messrs McVey, Comer, Johns, and Comer, junr. It was determined that subscriptions to meet the necessary expenses be solicited, but huch to be limited to one shilling from each person. The following telegram will be sent this afternoon :—
" Thames, 2nd August, 1878. " Beaconsfieid, " London.
"Inhabitants Thames Goldfield. Congratulations result Congress. "W.Fbaseb, Warden."
