Boxes filled with dynamite have been thrown from a great height, and found to sustain any amount of shock without exploding. They have also been placed upon an open fire, when the dynamite burned slowly away without exploding.—Parliamentary report—Blue Book, page 179.
Dynamite has been in a railway collision and, though the Tan and boxes containing it were broken, no explosion took place. —Blue Book, page 182, par. 2979 ": Mftjor Majendie, R.A., H.MS.
