PORT CHALMERS.
This day.
A serious accident happened to Harry Maitland, eldest son of Mr J. P. Maitland, Chief Commissioner of the Waste Lands Board. The young gentleman had visited the port on horseback, and while engaged in remounting, the horse became restive and.caused Maitland to fall on his head heavily. He was at once put to bed. Dr Drysdale found him suffering from concussion of the brain.
