PRINCE IMPERIAL.
Some years ago the reef at No. 2 level was worked, but owing to its striking the slide, driving was discontinued. The manager has during the past day or~two resumed operations here; the slide has been cut through, and the lode obtained on the seaward side. At present it is small, and much split and jumbled, which, however, is easily accounted for by the proximity of the slide. The quartz, however, looks well, and contains good indications for gold. After a little further; driving the reef may be expected to become more compact. The manager has also had the eastern drive at this level cleared out and operations commenced on the lode. Stoping is at present in progress, and a breaking down will take place shortly. There is a considerable tonnage Of stuff from the bottom level to grass, and crushing will be commenced again soon.
