A boat was immediately sent to his rescue, and the man was brought out and lodged in custody. Cox is about 50 years of age, and Jacobs is eighteen. He had been paying his addresses to her, and had got her own and her father's con-, sent to their marriage, but her brother had recently objected to the alliance. The girl was unable to attend at the Court to-day, and the case was remanded for a week.
