This day. Destructive Fire at Masterton. £30,000 worih of .*Property Cestrcyed. A large fire occurred at Mastei'ton early this morning. Fallens, Williams, Wyllie, (xirdlestouc, SoHar and Hales' stores and the Wair.—apa Registrar's Office were destroy:!. The fire began ' < the latter, but tbe origin is unknow. It is suspected to be the work of an incendiary. Previous to the fire being discovered, an ex. plosion was heard in the Registrar's office, then the flames spread rapidly. The estimated Joss is between twerty and thirty thousand. Some goods from Sellars' md Hairs' stores were | saved, but 'much damaged by the rail. The rest is a total loss. The following are the insurances ascertained: —South British, stock, £2350, reinsured in the Imperial for £500; Hansealic, £500; Victoria, £600.
