WATCHMAN.

The tributers, George and party, commenced the crushing of a few tons of stuff at the Prince Alfred mill to-day. .They have been employed putting up a shoot to the Sons of Freedom hoppers, and when this is complet:d will be able to commence crushing on a larger scale than at present. Operations in the mine are confined to the low-level, where driving pa the lode is in progress. The drfve is now in 80 feet, and the lode is looking very well. It is three feet thick,* and shows gold pretty freely. The junction has hot yet been reached.
