RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAY. (Before A. J. Allom and H. Goldsmith Esqs., J's.P.) LUNACY. Sobiski was charged on suspicion of being of unsound mind. Mr Sullen said that yesterday the man had been found .near Tapu by Mr Mcllhone, Inspector of Miners' Rights, cutting timber on some land. He entered into conversation with the man and finding he was wrong in the head, induced him to come to Grahams'o-vn where he was examined by Drs O'Fiaherty and Payne, whose certificates to the man's insanity he produced. He labored under many ajtrong hallucinations as he thought He was the owner of a, large quantity of land, and also asserted he owned all the Bank of Australasia. He said he was half a Turk and half a Maori. Committed to the Lunatic Asylum. ASSAULT. John Place was charged with having assaulted William Kelsall on the 17th. There being no appearance of either party the case was struck out. Court adjourned.
