NEW NORTH DEVON.
The manager (Mr McTlhauey) informs me that the crushing at Bull's is shaping for about an ounce per load. There will be about 140 tons in this parcel, and retorting will take place before the end of next week. At the mine the lode has recently increased in size to about 6 feet from wall to wall. There is a small " dig "
or clay seam in the centre of the lode at the face dividing the lode into footwall and hanging-wall portions, and at present there are indications of them coming together. As the stoDe carries the concomitants of gold, when th;s takes place theie is a good chance of the lode increasing its value. The reef is of the increased size for about 25 fret tack from the face. The stopes are looking pretty well;
QUEEN OF BEAUTY.
Until the winze from the No. 7 level is through stoping cannot be carried on to advantage in the No. 8 level as there are no means of filling in. There is a winze partly sunk from the No. 6 level which shortly can be used as a pass if the remainder of the distance is put down. There is nothing fresh of importance at the mine. .»
TRIUMPH.
