STAR (KURANUI.)
: Since my last report on the above claim the shareholders have intersected the reef they were driving for. It is a fine large body of quartz, several feet thick. The quartz is brown, and though there is plenty of good mineral in the stone no gold has yet bren seen. A trial paicel of some eight or nine tens has b. en broken out, and is now lying at the Euranui battery, where it will be crushed as soon as that mill commences work. The driving of the main tunnel has been discontinued. The manager, Mr Kinpford, intends shortly to commence driving on a small leader of fine looking quartz running towards the slide.
