Inspection of the T.S.V.
The inspection of this fine corps took place last night, end the attendance of the corps was even larger than usual. Much interest was shown by the public, and the fair sex was well represented, tlie ladies of several officers and members being present, among whom we noticed Mrs Murray, Mrs Kilgour, and others. After inspection of arms and accoutrements the corps was put through the ma.lual exercise by Captain Murray. Several field movements were then gone through with a precision that would have done credit to a Queen's company, especially the formation of compr y squares to receive cavalry, counter-marching by ranks, &c. After inspection Sergeants Scott and Symington were called to the front, and the promotion of the former to the rank of Color-Sergeant and of the;latler to that of Quartermaster-Sergeant Were approved of by Major Cooper, who complimented these Volunteers on their well-merited .promotion. The officers of the corps with Lieut. * Denby, No. 2 H.JB.V., were then put through the a word exercise, which was done in a man nor . that reflected credit on their instructor, Mr Hyman, late of the 14th Dragoons. At the termination of this, Major Cooper congratulated Captain Murray on the continued improvement of the corps in drill and attendance. He aho cp.ngratulalsd the men on having such officers.
