This day.

The Wanaka with the 'Frisco mail, which left here at 11 p.m. on Monday for Port Chalmers arrived back in harbor towed by the Bingarooma at 12.40 a.m. to-day. When about 100 miles to the south-west of Port Chalmers, at 3 a.m. yesterday, wi h a very heavy head sea running, she lost, the whole of the^ blades of her propellors. The wind was), southerly and westerly. Sail was ma- le, aad the vessel healed back up the coast, and at 6.30 p.m. yestei'day, when off Akaroa the Itingarooma picked her up and towed her in. The mails and passengers were - transhipped into the Riugarooma, which sailed South at thr'-v this morning. The Wanaka has not sustained any further damage.
