QUEEN OF BEAUTY.
The crushing at the company's mill is shaping fairly, and a good supply of quartz is being kept up. The whole 20 head are employed da company's stuff, and the mill is capable of putting through 20 to 30 tons per day. The chief source of the quartz supply at the mine just now is the two drives at thebottomlevel—one tbwards the Queen of the May section, and the other towards the Piako". The drive is being carried along nine feet high, and, as in the west drive, the reef is stripped, the quartz can be rushed out with great speed. Only contractors are employed just now, but it is likely wages men will be put on to start stoping some day this week. The only work at present in progress in the; Queen of the May section is the putting in of a drive. The tributers Wilson and party are at present working on stuff at the 190 feet level, but are not crushing just now. Mr Badford, the new manager, has taken charge of the claim, and the directors intend to superintend the crushing themselves at present. ■■'■■.■■ ■ ■'■■■•' ■ v:... : .r,■;.■■;.. . .• •.
