This day.
At the inquest on the fire which destroyed Watkins' house, the jury found that the house was wilfully set on fire by some unknown person, and added a rider condemning the system of insuring properties to so great an extent, as an incentive to incendiarism, the property being old and rotten, and would, in their opinion, be replaced for half the amount for which it was insured.
