No bill was found against Qhas. Moncur for. an.unnatural offence, and JohnEddin* grpve for rape. George Murdoch, for •larceny, was found guilty, and sentenced ' to two years. Alfred Brown, for larceny , was acquitted. ■' The.Dunedin election resulted in a 1 majority for Oliver. The numbers were j —Oliver, 769; Beeves, 658. Oliver's party worked very hard, and scarcely any efforts were made on behalf of Beeves.

In the Police Court to-day, Andrew Kyan was charged with having broken into St. Peter's Church at Queenstown in April last, with intent to rob, was remanded to Queenstown. During the month (P year) endiug June 30th, there were registered 602 births,- 232 deaths, and 214 marriages here.

A farmer having cattle trespassing upon his grass fields, posted up the following:—" Notis—lf any. man's or woman's cows' or oxen gets into these here otes, his or her tale will be cut off, as the case may be. lam a Christian, and pay mi taxes, but darn the nun who lets his critera run luse, say I."
