PRINCE IMPERIAL.
The, air in the drive from the winzes at bottom level is now good, and-.quartz is being taken out. It is apparently of v the . same value as that from the stopes in the level above. The winze on the Mariner's reef is making good progress^ and the lode continues to look well, while occasionally parcels of picked stone are obtained. Several pounds were obtained on Thursday, and were lodged in the bank Sot safe keeping, together with others obtained since last crashing, the whole amounting to 801b?.
A meeting of the directors of this com pany was he! 4 last evening, at which Mr William Eowe was authorised to proceed to .Auckland to make arrangements for the purchase of, a winding engine, by whichit is intended to .work the levels from the Central Italy stiett. -Some 3000 or 4000 shares have been forfeited for the non-payment of the last call. Once work is fairly started this valuable claim may soon be expected to go ahead.
