la addition to the operations on Gilmourj's leader, the manager has resumed work in the drive on the footwall of tbe No. 2 reef, near the rise. Stripping the lode is the order of the day, and the manager does not intend to break any quartz till a good stretch of the lode is is laid bare. The drive on Gilmour's leader is making good progress, and gold is constantly seen in the quartz broken down, while parcels of specimens are frequently obtained. The s topes also continue to look well. Gilmour and party are crushing a parcel at the Prince Alfred mill just now.
