WELLINGTON.
Friday. The s.s. City of New York, from Auckland on the 28th ult., with the May colonial mails for London, arrived at San Francisco on Wednesday last, the 19th instant, one day in advance of her due date.
It is understood that the Government will shortly call to the Upper House Mr P. A. Buckley, of Wellington, solicitor. A Gazette was issued to-day containing a proclamation defining the boundaries of the District Courts of Hawke's Bay, Wellington, And Christchurch. Regarding delayed telegrams an Order in Council is published which states that the new regu'ation shall take effect and remain in force for three months from and after the Ist of July. All telegrams presented for transmission under this regulation must have the word "delayed " written under the head of " instruction " when presented, otherwise it will be treated as an ordinary telegram. Mr Hugh Black, a well-known reporter in Australia and New Zealand, died today from consumption. The allotment notices for the Colonial Insurance Company will be issued on Monday evening next. This day. It is understood that Parliament will be called together for the despatch of business on tbe 26th of July. Meeting of Parliament. A Gazette Extraordinary, just issued, contains a proclamation calling the parliament together for the despatch of business on Friday the 26th of July next.
