Ai accident c^curred to the Patea coach comin? into town this evening, about 4.30. When about five miles from town, and when it was just growing dusk, a swai-sman started from the side of the road 'and fri^ht-jped ihe horses. They plunged and swertred, and overturned the coa^h against the bank side of the road. Captain Ma shall, A.C., was violently thrown out and had his shoulder dislocated, and other injuries, but not of a dangcous rature. Another passenger had a rib broken and some scalp wounds. Hall, the driver, behaved admirab'y, according to the test'Tiouy of the pzss- ngers. He tried his best to regain his command of the horse-, and after the accident did his best to set things straight. One horse was fatally injured, and the others were hurt. The suiferera ere progressing favourably.
