The operations in the winzes at the bottom level were suspended to-day ia consequent of the gas, which, with an easterly wind, invariably accumulates in these winzes. Colors of {jold are frequently seen in the quartz, which also contains a good deal of mineral. The winze on the Mariner's reef is down about 50 feet with a good stvong reef showing colors, gold. (Specimens are not unfrequently obtained from here. The Btopes are turning out their quota of stuff* apparently of the average value. Crushing will not be resumed for a week or so yet.
