The cashing for this nrne at the Prince Alfred mill is showinsspleDdidly.iancl judging i'.'om the show on the plates, I should say tbe general sluff is going for fully tbr-e ounces to the ton. Since this crushing started the manager informs me that yesterday 40lbs of rough amalgam bad been taken from the plates. There are about 50 or 60 tons of the stuff from Gilmour's lode, and the richness of the general stuff is all the more satisfactory, as the most of it was carefully picked out for specimens and picked stone, of which there are 6CO or 7001bs on hand now. The stuff will be all thr, ojflh this week, as twelve head are going on it; and in a day or so the specimen stone will be treated with the single semper. At the mine operations are at present confined to Gilmour's lode, which continues fo look first-rate. Some 60!bs of picked stuff and specimens were shot down on Tuesday, and, indeed, gold is seen almost every shot. Tbe face of the drive is now a considerable distance ahead of the stopes. - Gi!*nour and parly will be crushing next week,, and should. hare a goou return. , ' - ■
