NEW NORTH DEVON.
The crushing for this mine having been finish*d, retorting took place at -the mill this morning for the return of 57£ozs gold. This is the produce of 47 tons of general stuff and 80 or 90lbs of picked stone, which latter however, only produced some 4Oozs of amalgam. Mr Mcllhaney informs me that something has happened to disturb the lode, and it is now much broken. This has often been experienced formerly in the Alburnia and Devon too, and the reef may soon be expected to assume a more compact appearance.
