PATEA.
Tuesday. The sale of a block of two hundred thousand acres of land beyond the con* fiscated boundary, and between the Waitotara and Whenuakura rivers, was negotiated by Mr Williams for William Cowen, of Carlyle, yesterday. The Ngaraura tribe are the sellers. The present purchaser has given the.Government the refusal of the land* The natives desire the transaction to be known all over the colony. Large reserves will be set aside, and the land will eventually be cut up for small farms, but it must first go through the Court.
