Municipal THAMES BOROUGH COUNCIL. Bye-law of the Council of the Borough of Thames, made under special order of the said Council, dated the 14th day of March, 1878, conßrmed the 25th day of April, 1878, and sealed with the common seal of the said Borough the 2nd day of May, 1878. , In pursuance of the powers vested in them under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1876, the Council of the Borough of Thames ordain as follows, that is to say, Bye-law No.* 6, made by the said Council on the 15th day of February, 1877, is hereby repealed; and further in pur. suance of the powers vested. in them under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1876, the Council of the Borough of Thames ordain as follows, that is to say— 1. The slaughtering of great and small cattle as defined by the " Slaughterhouse, Act, 187^," within the Borough is hereby prohjlnted except in slaughterhouses licensed by the Council of the Borough^? Thames. ' 2; fifty owner or occupier of premises ma^&pply to the Council for a license to ope the same as a slaughter-house, such •application to be in writing in the form set out in Schedule No. 1 hereto and to be lodged with the Town Clerk. 3. For each such license there shall be paid by the Licensee to the Borough Fund a fee of not less than £5 (five pounds) nor more than £25 (twenty-five pounds) as may be fixed on by the. Council of the Borough of Thames on each application and each license shall remain in force until the 31st day of* December following the date of such license. 4. Every licensed slaughterhouse and the implements therein shall *oe so kept clean the building so scraped and limewashed that no noxious or injurious effects may ensue to the public from the use of such slaughterhouse. 5. Every Licensee shall give immediate notice in writing to the Town Clerk and to the Inspector of Abattoirs and Slaughterhouses of any diseased animal being brought to such licensed slaughterhouse for slaughter. 6. Every -Licensee shall admit to the licensed premises at aay hour of the day or night any officer of the Thames Borough Council or of the Armed Constabulary or Police force. 7. The report required by\the26 Section of the Slaughterhouse Act, 1877, to be transmitted to the Inspector of .Abattoirs and Slaughterhouses every week shall be on forms to be obtained from the Town Clerk. 8. There shall not be admitted into any licensed premises any animal which from injury or any other cause would not when killed be fit for human food, nor shall there be so admitted the carcase of any animal unfit for human food. 9. No animal' shall in- such licensed premises be subjected to any pain not necessarily consequent upon or entailed by the act of slaughter. 10. Any person guilty of any offence of omission or commission against this Bye law shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding £20. Schedule No. 1. No day of 187 . To the Council of the Borough of Thames.
