At the annual meeting ' f the Lyttelton •Harbour Board, the treasurer's statement showed that the.receipts.for the p st year were £26,732, and the ordinary expenditure £14784. During the year P<>-cock's wharf and two sections of laid have been purchased'" at a.'cost -of £21,9'_:». The traffic passing over the wharves had been"? —Generrl goods, 135,866 tons ; timber, 15,922,241 feet; sheep, 603 score ; wool and skins, 53i005 b-les; horses and cattle, 1,530. The, assets of the Board, after deducting liabilities, amount to £297,489. The cost .of dredging during the year had beeii a li'iiie less than 5-fd per cubic yard. Sinco May, 1577, upwards of 612,0)0 tons of stuff had been removed from the harbour by the dredging apparatus. The Customs revenue for the last month was £29,059 ; for the corresponding month of last year £14,874. 'The land sales last month realised £98,534.
The Governor wil! hold a levee on Thursday. At the annual licensing meeting to-day nine out of ten applications for licenses were refused, and one was adjourned for consideration. :
