ALBURNIA.
Retorting for the month was finished this morning at the Herald mill, when the good return of 5720za gold was obtained.. This is the produce of some 160 tons of general" stuff, about 2< )fts of specimens, and 4cwt of picked stone. The return will be sufficient to pay a half-acrown dividend, pay working expenses for the month, and l»ave a margin. The monthly mine expenses tot up to a very respectable sum just now, as there aie no less than 60 men employed, by the company, and the co3t of transit and crushing mount up to 11 or 12; shillings per truck. The mest of the rich stone was obtained froir the winze workings, which promise to be prolific gold producers for some time to come, as they are well opened up. At the mine there is nothing particular since my last report.
