As showing the high price of land in South Canterbury, Mr Jonas Hart disposed of Quin Bros", farm at Makihi, of 1O acres, for £16,0C0—over £22 per acre. A section of land consisting of 32 perches, in Timaru, opposite the Police Station, sold for £800.
