The cross-cut from the main tunnel has been extended 28 feet during the past week, making its total length from the tunnel 49 feet. The country is favorable for rapid driving. It is uncertain how long it will take to intersect the Point Kus'ell reef. The winze is making good progress, and the lode has a likely appearance. All through the' stopes the quaitz has been of low grade, which accounts for the poor yield for the fortnight. A crushing of 18 tons of quartz has been completed for Thomas and party for the yield of Slozs lOdwts gold.
