ALBURNIA.
There is now about 4cwt of specimens and picked stone on hand, and the crushing is looking well—shaping on the average for 4 ounces per ton. There is nothing particularly fresh at the mine with the exception of the intersection of the main reef in the cross-cut from Sons of Freedom low level, which though rather shaken just now shows colors of gold, as it is to be assumed that the 360 feet of backs separating this depth from the Whau level workings is payable stuff, and good gold has been obtained both at the top and bottom of the block.
