CURE.

Since my last report the manager has been pushing on the drive on G-ilmour's leader towards its expected junction with Morrison's leader, which it is supposed will take place some 25 feet ahead of the face of the drive. Both these leaders carry gold, and the, prospects of a good

patch being dropped across at the junction maybe considered very good. Of late the leader has very much improved in appearance, and the country is much. more favorable than at the time when the last crushing was take out. Stoping operations are also progressing, and another crushing is accumulating, though it will be some time ero it is sent to the stampers. Driving operations in the surface cross-cut have been suspended pending the result of the Manukau tributers' operations on tho No. 1 lode. But little work has recently been executed in connection with the rise on No. 1 reef, as the manager has the men employed cleaning out an old drive, which will be needed in the development of the lode. At present onjy two tribute parties au working in the mine—namely, Gilmour and party and Scott Hunter and party, and these two are both doing well, especially the former. They are both engaged in accumulating, crushings. Morrison's block, which previously yielded remuneratively, has not been re-let, though there have been several applicants for it, as it is likely the company will work it on their own account.
