THE SONG OF THE KETTLE.
I sit ob the hob. and I liappily sing The merriest ditty I know; 'Tit sweet as the bubble that's hoard in a spring, - - And as soft as the zephyr* that blow. | I hear the tweet voices of ladies around, And the little ones shouting with glee j And my singing enraptures them all the year round, For there's nought like a cup of good tea. It is right I should tell you ef McGowan's retreat} The theme is just right for a kettle | And freely I'll point oat a wonderful heat, For I am made of. the right sort of metal. Let ladies'.be careful and mind what they do) . Let them listen with "pleasure to me— For fragrance and flaTor and quality true, There's no place like McGh>wan's t fdr tea. Though I am only a kettle, yet take my adfice To purchase from MoGowan's; you'll find Not only a wonderful saving in price, But a joy to the palate and mind. Delighted are those who have called at Mac's in art j And delighted yau'lUcertaialy be, If now for a. sample you quiokly depart— There's none can surpass Mao in tei. Ibis poem is written expressly for J* MoGowan, and preiented by his admirer for bringing to light a little of Boro' by-play. [Adtt]
