LYTTELTON.

This day.

The yacht Contrabahdiere, from Auckland, bound for Wellington, put in to this harbor through stress of weather and shortness of provisions. When within 27 miles of Wellington, on Monday last, she was caught by a heavy N.W. gale and driven about 200 miles off the land. When the gale abated she spoke the Prince Alfred barquentine, and was supplied with provisions. She made the land and endeavored to reach Wellington, but owing to a northerly/ wind and springing a leak she was compelled to bear up for Lyttelton. All well on board.
