■iA^i.^-:,.j.i. _ ..'... ' i; Thursday.!; The Land Court was opened agalii today. Petera and parity opposed the sitting of the Court, while Pokiha Henare and others"strongly urged the Court to proceed, with, the claims, and as the Court was doing so a smart passage of arms occurred between Po'uha. and Petera, and the Court adjourned to the green outside; After much discussion the followers of Petera and Pokiha advanced towards each other in a most warlike manner, andinstead of the rival chiefs burying their tomahawks in each other's skulls they rubbed noses, and then the Court adjourned til) 3 p.m. Land speculators are here in abundance, but keeping very quiet;;., Judge Halse exercises all the necessary patience, and John Betts, the assessor, is quiet clearheaded enough for bis work. Everyone here hopes the Court will proceed, but still the most sanguine are in doubt.
