BLENHEIM.
Tuesday. An assay took place this afternoon of copper ore from D'Urville's Island, just leased to Charles Bed wood from the natives for 21 years. Thousands of tons lie exposed on the surface. The outcrop has been traced about a mile, averaging five feet in thickness. The first sample tested gave 18J per cent, of pure metal, and the picked specimens as high as 70 per cent. Mr Bed wood intends forming a company at once, which will be floated in a few days. ;
