[For the information of our oorrespon> dent, and others who may not know the provisions of the Act, we publish the following clauses of " The Dog Nuisance Act, 1851," and Act or the Provincial Council of Auckland under which the dog nuisance is regulated.—Ed.]:— . 8, Every dog whether with a turet affixed to him or not found, at large in any highway without his owner may be seised by any constable and shall be kept exposed to view in some public place to be appro, priated for the purpose at the Foliee ; Office in or nearest to the district in which such dog shall be seised for the space of forty-eight hours at least if not sooner claimed. 9. If within the said forty-eight hows any person shall claim any tneh dog the person in charge of such public place shall (upon being satisfied that the per* son making such claim is the owner thereof, or is some person authorised by him) deliver such dog to the person so claiming the same upon payment of the sum of fire shillings.
