AUCKLAND.

This day.

The Governor has arrived at Hokianga, and was met by the principle residents and entertained at luncheon. The reception was enthusiastic. The Telegraphist and two French vessels fired a salute of twenty-one guns, and all the vessels were decorated. There was a splendid display of fire works. The Governor left for Webster's place at the betels. On return to Onehunga he will be entertained by a large assembly.

The Hon. J. Shcehan has gone to Waitnkcngi ("probably Waitakerei) on an official visit. He will be back to n'ght.

There are considerable comments re the rejultof the Hurdle Race, with unfavorable remarks on Perfume. The matter will probably be investigated.
