WELLINGTON.
Monday.
The Easter offering at St. Paul's Thorndon, yesterday, amounted to £97 17s 6d, the largest sum ever collected on any Sunday at any church in Wellington. The proceeds go to the incumbent, the Key. Mr Harvey.

Captain Edwin reports tbat a strong north-easterly gale may be expected shortly at Auckland.
It has been definitely arranged that
Parliament will not meet before the j middle of July.
Sir George Grey will leave Wellington in time to-attend the Native meeting at Hikurangi on the 30th inst.
Mr J. Saunders, ex-superintendent of Nelson, will contest Cheviot with Sir Cracroft Wilson. Mr Saunders, it is understood, will be a supporter of the present Government.
