Convinced of the payable nature of the stone coming from this claim the share* holders have set to work aud made the road in a passable stale of repair for sledges. Some first-rate stone hat been coming from the large reef since the trial crushing, and the mine is so well thought of that large sums have been offered for shares. I may mention that there is a heap of quirts lying on the claim wbieh ' was broken out by some fossicker who '.'knocked out his tucker" by humping down picked stone found in the outcrops of the lode or shallow workings to the-' mill.
